Want To Study In Germany? These Are 12 of The Best Schools

Germany is the fifth most popular destination for international students migration after the UK, US, Australia, and France according to UNESCO’s 2014 data, even though it is non-anglophone. Ever since Germany’s government authorized low to virtually no tuition fees for higher education institutions, to promote its commitment to universal education, there has been a certain surge in its education sector.

In 2013/14 the total number of international students in Germany was 301315, 53.3% of that contained Nigerian students (Project Atlas). Students have stated low tuition fees, excellent quality of education, STEM courses, high quality of life, availability of research scholarships, language integration programs, and post-graduation employment prospects as some of the main reasons for picking Germany as a top destination for study.

Although tuition fees are free in most public universities for international students, you are required to pay a nominal fee per semester; this covers administration, student support, and other costs.

If you want to study in Germany at a higher level for a Master’s or Ph.D., you may need to pay tuition fees.
