Want To Study In Canada? These Are 10 Of The Best Schools

Canada is ranked seventh (7th) among the leading study destinations in the world according to the Institute of International Education (IIE) and Project atlas.

In 2014, there were 427,000 international students enrolled in all levels of education in Canada, this is a 10% increase in international students’ population from 2013 according to the Canadian Bureau for International Education and Citizenship and Immigration Canada combined (ICEF Monitor).

79.8% of these international students enrolled in post-secondary, 15.2% in secondary schools with the remainder in language programs or otherwise. 2.3% of these international students are Nigerians which occupies the 8th position for places of origin for international students mobility to Canada with 8620 students as at 2014 reported the CBIE’s “A World Of Learning 2015”, this is a 25% increase from 2013.

A 2018 CBIE international student survey said that 90% of these students were satisfied with their studies in Canada while 95% will recommend Canada as a study destination.

However, the internationalization of the Canadian education system benefits the country in socio-cultural diversity, international knowledge generation, job creation, GDP growth, tourism growth, and an international faculty generation for its universities.

International students also stated their reasons for studying in Canada are cheaper tuition fees from other destinations, multiple study options, the simpler application process, opportunities for permanent residency, study and work opportunities for students, high quality of academic and research education, safety and tolerance of the country’s citizens.

The major fields of study for these students are engineering, business, social science, natural science, computer/information technology, health science, arts, and design, etc.
