South Korean Student Visa Requirements for Nigerian Citizens

You must deliver all necessary and pertinent papers to the South Korea visa application center (VFS Global) in Abuja to apply for a student visa to South Korea. The necessary documents required and to be submitted by visa applicants include;

  1. A properly filled visa application form (with one passport photograph attached). Click here to download the South Korean visa application form.
  2. International passport. You can process your international passport at your nearest immigration office.
  3. Photocopy of international passport bio-data page.
  4. Photocopy of National ID card/Driver’s license/Voters card/Work ID/Student ID (Original ID Card will be checked).
  5. Originals and photocopies of the latest academic certificates.
  6. Affidavit from the Nigerian High court declaring ownership of certificates thus proving your graduation.
  7. Notarization of certificate and affidavit from Ministry of Foreign Affairs Official letter issued and stamped by Dean (including a contact number).
  8. Personal bank account statement (at least for 3 months and issued within 14 days) showing the evidence of the applicant’s financial ability to support him/herself (tuition fee and finance for stay for the period of study).
  9. Affidavit proving your family relations when submitting parents’ bank accounts; original copy / the document must indicate English spelling of applicant’s parents’ names.
  10. Flight booking information.
  11. Original Tuberculosis result or blood test result issued by a well-recognized health institution.
  12. Standard acceptance letter (with a photocopy of the data page).
  13. Photocopy of business registration Certificate of a respective education institute.

South Korean Visa Application fee in Nigeria

Single Entry Visa (More than 90 days): ₦27,000.

Double Entry Visa (two times entry within six months): ₦31,500.

Payment is made at the bank teller counter in the application center only.

South Korea Visa Application Centers

Applicants may submit the South Korean visa requirements at the Korean visa center (VFS): bank plaza third-floor Plot no. 1083, Muhammadu Buhari Way, Central Business District, Abuja, Nigeria.

Applicants can also submit at the Lagos office of the embassy, located at Plot 10 A &B, Layi Ajayi Bembe Street, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria.

Please note that their business hours are between 9 am and 2 pm on Wednesdays.

Visa Application Process

Visa applications are submitted at the South Korean Visa Application Center in Abuja and Lagos.

Applicants must indicate how they would like to collect their passports and/or documents via any of the chosen centers, i.e., by subscribing to Courier Services with a prepaid envelope at the time of application submission or by collecting it from the Visa Application Center in Abuja or Lagos.

The Embassy will take a minimum of ten working days for all passports after the submission of all documents.

A Korean visa applicant must collect his/her passport within 3 months of receiving a passport-collecting message from VFS Global. If not, the passport will be subjected to disposal by the Embassy.
